I don’t even want to know why this is news or much less why this is even an idea.

Nation’s First Feng Shui Inspired McDonald’s Restaurant Opens its Doors in Hacienda Heights

I find this insane and if this is successful that the American people can really be sold anything. Over the years I have had a few observations about McDonald’s.

Since I have been working in the same area of Las Vegas, I noticed that there are two McDonald’s within a few mile radius of my office. One is on the Las Vegas strip and the other a few blocks away. What I noticed was the insane price difference, the same item will cost you over $1 more just because you are on the strip. Gotta love the tourism trade. Okay, so that isn’t surprising to anyone. I know, location, location, location right. Still shouldn’t the same product cost the same to produce? why are we willing to pay more? Convenience? or is it that we perceive our selves as in a better place so this things just cost more? Perceived Value is something that is taught at the entry level Marketing programs everywhere. And it is obvious that this Feng Shui McDonald’s is based on this principle.

But why would we buy that? As a society with all of the problems we have, would anyone think it is a great why to find our peaceful energy by consuming things that only make us feel worse and ultimately kills us?

A few weeks ago, in a hurry I bought lunch at the expensive McDonald’s on the strip, and I brought it back to my office. When I opened up the bag, and I am not the healthiest of eaters, but I happen to see the nutritional information on the box.  Wow, I thought, now that is bold. So I started to read. I didn’t eat after that. The total fat content in that bag of food was equal to 100% allowed for a 2000 calorie diet and the calorie count was around 1300. Yes we all know fast food is not good for us. We still eat it. We know stress is not good for us. We worry.

With all this said, now close your eyes and imagine a new positive energy place, water falls, Coy fish, slight breeze, maybe you are searching for the hidden Third eye on your way to enlightenment. Are you in your place? Good.

Now think of the great smell of fried vegetable oil popping in your ears, children screaming because they didn’t get the right feng shui toy in their post consumer waste box. Its under control though Mom is there, she takes another prozac to dull the screams and make her feel beautiful. Oh yeah, what about the guy screaming at the counter, you know him everyone is retarded to him, but he will never realize what he is doing is a pointless, it is the most important thing in his life right now.

You laugh because you finally realize where you are. You find your Zen, your enlightenment, you watch as all these people are stressed out because their food is not given to them fast enough and if the order is not what they wanted they are angry. You realized that people are so far gone that they are mad about the item they want to use to kill themselves.
